Happy St. Patrick’s Day, New Open Water Class, and Travel Opportunities

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 185.

I hope you all have a great St. Patrick’s Day this year. It will certainly be a whole lot different than the last two years. We have certainly earned a bit of a celebration. If you aren’t able to sport your green today, there’s always the weekend.

The weather really threw us a curveball last weekend. The frigid temperatures and what they were describing as gale force winds forced us to cancel our Spring Ahead dive to Fort Wetherill. We waited as long as we could but by Saturday morning things really took a turn for the worse and we decided to call the dive. I feel like we made the right call. We’ll get out there soon. We are scheduled for April 3 at Stonington Point. Let’s hope Mother Nature cooperates then.

Matt has started our latest open water class this week. Our five prospective divers are ready to start their journey. Mary and George are helping out as they work on their Divemaster certification.

Last week we opened up reservations for our Philippine trip to Dumaguete in October 2023. That may seem like it is a long way off. We wanted to make sure that everyone who is planning to join us on the trip can book now. Atlantis Resort in Dumaguete is fabulous and the diving is world-class.

And while I am on the subject of travel, Donna and I are running a trip over the Labor Day Weekend to Sunset House on Grand Cayman. We haven’t been there since 2018 and we are considering this a warm up for our Little Cayman trip in October. That one is virtually sold out - only one spot left for a female diver. So if you missed out on Little Cayman but still want to get a great Cayman dive trip in, our Labor Day weekend trip to Sunset House will fit the bill.

It sure has been a long two years and we are very hopeful that normal will take over once again.

Take care everyone,

Jeff
