New Compressor, New Lights, New Training and more

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 219.

Well even though our dive season is essentially wrapped up for 2022, that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a lot still going on at Scuba Shack. And we have some BIG news, at least for us. We have a new compressor! Our reliable Poseidon compressor has served us well over the years, but it was beginning to feel its age, so we decided it was time to take the plunge and install a brand new Alkin compressor. I had a chance to see all of the different manufacturers while in Orlando and settled on the Alkin W32 canopy unit. We are thrilled.

And while I am speaking of new stuff, we very recently had the entire Scuba Shack dive center refitted with high output, energy efficient LED lighting. It is simply amazing. Not only do we get incredible brightness throughout the facility, we are more excited about how these lights are helping reduce the amount of greenhouse gas by being so much more efficient than the antiquated fluorescent lights.

Come on down to the shop and check out our new compressor and lighting. A great outing for Black Friday or Small Business Saturday.

We have turned on our training calendar for the first quarter. There are three open water classes, one each in January, February and March. Nitrox is also available and on the website. We are also working on a potential trip to the Islamorada DIve Center in the FL Keys in April. Stay tuned for more details on that trip. We are hoping to conduct open water certification dives, peak performance buoyancy class and finish up with advanced open water. You can also just make plans to come on down and dive. Tentative dates are April 17 - 21, 2023.

After two long years where wetsuits were very difficult to come by we are starting to see the supply chain open up. If you are in the market for a new wetsuit, please come on down, so we can get the right measurements and get you the suit that fits. Henderson has a wide variety of sizes and we want to make sure we get you one that works for you.

Until next week, take care.

Jeff
