Scuba Shack Cookout, New Open Water Class and more

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 4 No. 149

Hope everyone enjoyed the three-day weekend and had some fun and relaxation over the 4th of July holiday. We had the opportunity to have a cookout at the shop on Saturday. It was really great to connect with everyone and visit with old friends. Even though the weather was a bit rainy, we were able to put up the canopies, open up the bay and enjoy some good cookout food and drink. Thanks everyone for stopping by. Is this the start of a new tradition?

Our newest open water class has started. Matt conducted the first night of training with introductions, a review of the physics of diving and diving into dive planning using the Aqualung i100 computer. Tonight the training continues with equipment familiarization, assembly and donning/doffing before they head to the pool on Saturday and Sunday. Our open water classes have become very popular this year.

You may start seeing me around the shop a little more going forward. Last week I officially retired from the Travelers. It has been in the works for quite a while and the day finally arrived at the end of June. While I’ve retired from there, I still have a lot to do around the shop.

Also in case you missed it, I’ve published the latest Photos of the Month for July 2021 on our website. You can check them out here. Thanks Matt and Joel for providing some great photos. Be sure to send any of your favorite pictures along with a caption to sshackdiving@gmail.com.

Matt also put up a short video from the Michigan trip on Scuba Shack TV. Watch it here.

Our monthly email newsletter is now also available on the website. If you want to take a look, you can pull up the email under our Latest Info section under News or click here.

And finally here is Wet Notes for 7-4-21.

Take care everyone.

Jeff
