Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 4 No. 157

Here we are in September already. I don’t know about you but it seems like it was just a few days ago that we were preparing for our first trip to Dutch Springs, our first open water certification dives of the year and our trip to Nassau. Now as the calendar has flipped to September we are preparing to wrap up a good part of the dive training season - but not all of it.

I want to wish everyone a Happy Labor Day and hope that you will get to enjoy a three day weekend. It’s pretty nice.

Ron and Dave finished up a confined open water class this weekend. Congratulations to all the divers who are now ready to take their open water certification dives. We have two upcoming weekends at Fort Wetherill. We will be up there this Labor Day weekend on both Saturday and Sunday. If you happen to be in the area please stop by and say hello. Then we will be back the weekend of September 18/19.

We also completed another Enriched Air Nitrox course this week.

There has been a lot of news coming out of Dutch Springs lately. Seems like there is a great deal of opposition to the plans to turn the property into a large warehouse site. From what I’ve read there is little that can be done to stop that development. You can hear more about what has been happening by listening to the latest update on Wet Notes. And just a reminder - Scuba Shack will be at Dutch the weekend of September 11/12.

Next week we will start our final open water diver course for the year as it stands right now but that could change. Looks to be a big one with Joel taking the lead with Peter and my help while the gang is down at Dutch Springs.

Until next week - take care.

Jeff
