Yes it is now officially Fall 2023 and I did make it to Dunkin for my first pumpkin muffin of the season. That tasted good!
Rain - Rain - and More Rain! Now that certainly was a lot of rain over the weekend and into Monday. No doubt about it, we are no longer in any kind of drought. Let’s hope the pattern changes so that all of this precipitation doesn’t come as snow!
Congratulations to our newest open water scuba divers at Scuba Shack. Mike and Bill along with Monty, Nancy and Alfred led our 8 students through their four certification dives this past Saturday and Sunday. Welcome Vinay, Brendan, Joy, Marly, Jude, Barry, Alexis, and Aviva to the wonderful world of scuba diving. We hope to see you out there diving.
As we make our way toward the end of the dive training season, it is now time for Rescue Diver. We are putting the final touches on the course as we head to Brownstone on October 7 for a long day of training. The course will start on Thursday October 5th with an orientation and planning for the event. Saturday will cover rescue skill development, various rescue exercises and culminate in the two high intense scenarios. Rescue is always a great way to wrap up the training season.
The schedule is now set for the PADI Foundations and Principles of Diving course. Mike and Bill will be leading the class on the first two Saturdays in December (12/2 and 12/9). The class will wrap up on Tuesday night - 12/12 with a video review and recap. This is a great winter course and a fantastic way to end 2023. The course will take place both at Scuba Shack and the Middlesex YMCA.
Believe it or not, we have now gotten most of our 2024 schedule set up for the new year. It takes a lot of planning and coordination and I want to thank all of the Scuba Shack Pros who participated in laying out a very busy 2024. We will start to post some of that online soon. I will keep you posted.
