Scuba Shack Weekly – Volume 3, Number 13
As we continue to battle the COVID-19 crisis, Scuba Shack is closed in accordance with the governor's executive order. We are hopeful that we will be in position to resume operations when the executive order is lifted. Right now is through April 22. Our number 1 priority is to do what is right from a health and safety standpoint.
We are also thinking about how to keep everyone engaged with our dive community. Monty has come up with a way. We have always been very busy and never had the chance to put the PADI Equipment Specialist course together. Well, by leveraging the PADI eLearning course and a virtual seminar, we can offer this class. More details including the schedule and how to sign up is posted right here.
On March 10 number of us from Scuba Shack attended the PADI update (just before the effects of the pandemic were widely felt. The Northeast Region Manager for PADI, Rob Kohl was in town and gave us the 2020 update. PADI has a new tagline - "Seek adventure, save the ocean". Their updated mission is to create a billion torchbearers to explore and protect the ocean. This mission is coupled with the PADI vision to "achieve balance between humanity and our ocean". A lot of great stuff from PADI – especially PADI Club. More to come on that.
In addition to Scuba Shack Radio, we now have Scuba Shack TV. This is our re-branded YouTube channel. Please subscribe to Scuba Shack TV. We will be posting videos from around the shop, cool stuff from trips, and other informative material. It is just getting off the ground and any input or suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated. Again, I hope this is another way to keep us connected during the crisis.
Times are extremely uncertain and we trust that by following the guidance that is out there we will be safe and all make it through.
Thanks for tuning in,
Jeff
