Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 6 No. 251.

Welcome to July everyone. We are now two weeks into the summer of 2023. I hope that everyone is enjoying the season. I also hope that everyone had a nice Fourth of July despite the thunderstorms. It sure has been wet.

Congratulations to Mike and Bill on completing their PADI Tec 50 course over the weekend. They had been working on this for quite a while and after a number of challenges they finally finished up with Chris Trainer and Monty on Saturday when they did two dives to the crane and the Chester Poling. This is a very demanding training program and requires a significant amount of planning on executing these technical dives safely. Let’s see what’s up next for them.

Today we started our open water certification dives for our three Meriden students at Brownstone Exploration and Discovery Park. Many thanks to Ed for sponsoring the dives at Brownstone. Ron and I finished up the first two dives as part of our inaugural Scuba Educational Alliance of CT scholarship program. Two more dives tomorrow and we will welcome these new ocean stewards to our community of divers.

Preparations are underway for this weekend's diving at Fort Wetherill. In addition to our open water certification dives we also have a couple of other activities planned. Bill will be taking his underwater photography students on a couple of dives where they will work on their shooting techniques. Mike is also completing a drysuit refresher where he will be conducting two dives. This is a great opportunity to get out and do some diving while Scuba Shack is in Jamestown.

And now, one final call for Cozumel. We absolutely have to close out the trip this weekend. If you want to get in some great diving at a very affordable price, now is the time to act.

Until next week, take care.

Jeff
