We are back from Little Cayman, SEACT goals, and more

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 217.
Well, all good things come to an end and so we finished up our trip to Little Cayman over the past weekend. It was sad to say goodbye to the resort and dive staff as we closed out our fantastic week of diving. You can listen to my full recap on the trip on Scuba Shack Radio Episode 96. There were some challenges in getting home for some of our group. Just as the second group was set to leave Little Cayman on the Twin Otter aircraft, it started to rain very hard causing the incoming aircraft to abort. The weather did clear however, a number of our travel group missed the connection from Grand Cayman to Miami. Some were fortunate to rebook and get home Saturday night. Monty and a few others stayed behind in Grand Cayman and returned on Sunday. Little Cayman does sometimes present some challenges with the very small runway and aircraft. But it is so worth the diving.
The Scuba Educational Alliance of Connecticut is a new non-profit organization that I founded to help foster a new generation of ocean stewards through scuba diving. It is an official 501(c)(3) company registered with the IRS and the CT Department of Consumer Protection as a public charity. We are planning to fund our first scuba diving scholarships in the spring of 2023 but need your help. Please check out SEACT.org and please consider making a donation toward our goal of funding four high school students in completing their scuba diving certification and becoming a new generation of ocean stewards.
I am heading off to the Dive Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA) Show in Orlando next week. There is a lot going on down there. I have been asked to participate in a panel discussion on the Power of Podcasting. Additionally, I have been nominated for the DEMA Board of Directors election. There will be a great deal of networking next week as the show recovers from the pandemic years.
Happy Halloween everyone and standby for an update from the DEMA Show in Orlando next week.
Take care,
Jeff
