Welcome to Summer 2022, Open Water Training goes on and more

Scuba Shack Weekly - Volume 5 No. 199.

We are now officially into summer 2022. Schools out and the hot weather is on the way. It certainly did not feel like summer this past weekend. The cooler weather and breezy conditions made it feel more like early May than mid-June. Open up the windows, turn the A/C off and enjoy before the sticky weather returns.

Congratulations to our newest open water scuba divers here at Scuba Shack. Aidan, Kim, Luke, Panchal, Frank, Andrew and Ryan completed their certification dives at Fort Wetherill over the Father’s Day weekend. The conditions on Saturday were not great but by Sunday things had improved nicely for their final dives. They are now ready to begin their diving adventure.

Also, on Sunday, Mike and Bill worked with Chris from Dive On It and Monty on skills for their PADI Tec 50 certification. Technical training requires a great deal of preparation, planning and practice. Next up for them will be to plan and conduct their final certification dives in the near future.

This week we started another open water course. Jay is leading this course and Bill is working with two other students on their confined water training at the same time. Our classes continue to be popular as more people want to begin their underwater journey.

The Boston Sea Rovers are accepting applications for their 2023 Internship program. This is a great opportunity. Check out the Boston Sea Rovers Intern Page for all the details and eligibility requirements. The Sea Rovers pride themselves on a terrific program.

Until next week - take care.

Jeff
