With approximately 12 hours of class and pool time you will expand your understanding of the foundational components of diving. The class objective is to enable divers with skills in pre-dive, equipment, buoyancy, propulsion, and body position. As you master these subjects, you will be on your way to a more enjoyable diving experience!

We shoot video of all pool sessions for review with your instructor. You will see your progress and obtain this personal feedback formulated specifically for you.

Class size is limited to ensure that you meet your goals.

What qualifications will I need?

To gain the most value from this training, you should be a PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization).

Minimum age: 15

What Equipment Will I Need?

This class is taught in a backplate & wing BCD, with a long-hose regulator configuration. You will also need appropriate exposure protection, mask, snorkel, fins and boots. To achieve your personal best, a heavy duty fin is suggested. If you do not own a backplate and wing BCD or long-hose regulator, rentals are available.

What Do I Do Next?

If you are interested in taking your buoyancy, control and propulsion to another level, call or email us to discuss our next available class and pricing.

Is There Anything Else?

Yes - everyone who takes the Scuba Shack Core Principles class must complete a Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire. Based on your responses, you may be required to have a physician clear you for recreational scuba diving. A fully completed medical questionnaire is an absolute requirement prior to any in-water activity with Scuba Shack.
