Scuba Shack’s Foundations and Principles of Diving course is now a PADI Specialty. Concentrate on equipment & preparation, trim & balance along with propulsion & stability. Gain confidence with your equipment and configuration, develop your buoyancy control techniques and gain knowledge & experience with a variety of propulsion methods. Plus your earn a PADI certification as you work towards Master Diver.

With approximately 16 hours of class and pool time you will expand your understanding and experience with the foundational components of scuba diving. This class focuses on -
- Equipment and preparation
- Trim and balance
- Stability and propulsion.
By completeing this class you should gain confidence with your gear and it's correct configuration, develop your buoyancy & control techniques and gain knowledge & experience with a variety of propulsion methods.
We video all pool sessions for review with your instructor. Follow your progress and obtain personal feedback formulated specifically for you!
Class size is limited to ensure that you meet your goals.
What qualifications will I need?
To gain the most value from this training, you should be a PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization).
Minimum age: 15
What Equipment Will I Need?
You will need your complete scuba kit. This class is taught in a backplate & wing BCD, with a long-hose regulator configuration. A heavy duty stiff, short fin is required. A wetsuit is highly recommended. All students are expected to have their own equipment (Scuba Shack provides tanks and weights)

Is There Anything Else?
Yes - everyone who takes the Scuba Shack Focused Core Principles PADI Specialty class must complete a Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire. Based on your responses, you may be required to have a physician clear you for recreational scuba diving. A fully completed medical questionnaire is an absolute requirement prior to any in-water activity with Scuba Shack.
