The Introduction to Doubles class with Scuba Shack is developed to give you a foundation in diving the double tank configuration. This class consists of one classroom session where you will be introduced to the set up, understand doubles configuration, discuss safety considerations and how double tanks fit and feel. You will then complete a three-hour pool session where you will begin to understand proper weighting for the configuration, practice your buoyancy, propulsion and stability in the water as well as the safety procedures.
What Qualifications Do I Need?
You must be at least a PADI Open Water Diver (or above) and be able to properly handle the additional weight of the double tank rig.
Minimum age: 15
What Equipment Will I Need?
In addition to your exposure protection, mask, fins and weights, you will need a double tank set up that consists of the regulators, tanks, and buoyancy compensator. If you do not yet have your double tank configurations, Scuba Shack has limited rental options available for an additional charge.
What Do I Do Next?
If you are interested in enrolling in an upcoming class, you will need to call to set up an appointment with one of our staff to discuss the class in more detail after which you will be able to sign-up.
Is There Anything Else?
Yes - everyone who takes the Scuba Shack Introduction to Doubles class must complete a Diver Medical Participant Questionnaire. Based on your responses, you may be required to have a physician clear you for scuba diving. A fully completed medical questionnaire is an absolute requirement prior to any in-water activity with Scuba Shack.
